Ripped Review

Ever since my first interest in fitness, I have read and researched through several health and fitness books. These books have been about bodybuilding, weight training, and anything to do with fitness. One of my favorite fitness books is Ripped, by Clarence Bass. Clarence Bass is a long time bodybuilder who didn’t get started until just before his 40’s; however, he had other fitness experience from such activities as wrestling and Olympic weight lifting. I believe that Ripped was his first book.

I chose to purchase "Ripped" because at the time I was trying to figure out a way to get as lean and muscular as possible. My frame is similar to his and so I figured that it would be useful to read about his journey into bodybuilding. As the title implies, Clarence Bass is definitely ripped. In the book he goes through some of his training, but really focuses more on diet as that is the key to ultimate leanness. And this book is full of great tips on how to get ripped. It’s essentially a journal of his that takes us on an adventure of discovery. He hits set backs and periods of confusion but he also reaches great achievement.

When I read about his disappointments with himself and his fitness goals I would sometimes think how incredible this guy is, he’s down to about 5 % body fat and it’s not good enough for him. Now most people don’t need or want to get down to 5 % or lower body fat, but if you do this book will be a great help. As for everyone else, they can apply most of these principles and get great results. The book is a quick and fun read filled with tons of useful info. It’s also very affordable. I definitely recommend buying and reading a copy of "Ripped".
